I Found a Church!!

Well everyone, my fears as outlined in my previous blog entry have calmed as of yesterday. I recently came across a church in Innsbrueck, Austria called "Kirche im Kino" which is a church that meets in a cinema, has a band just like ours, and young people. I emailed them to ask if they knew of a church in Koblenz, Germany, where I'll be in the fall. This is what they emailed me back:

Liebe Caitlin,
ich kenne nur eine Freie Evangelische Gemeinde in Koblenz.
Über Google sicher zu finden, soll sehr gut sein.
Mit lieben Grüßen
Andreas

WHICH MEANS...

Dear Caitlin,
I only know of the Free Evangelistic (Non-denominational) Church in Koblenz. You'll surely find it in Google, it should be really good.

Many Greetings,
Andreas

So I went to the website and got to looking around and although I must admit it's not quite as cool as River Run, it IS non-denominational and contemporary. The best part is...GET READY...there is a young adult small group for 18-30 year olds! They meet every Thursday evening, and the normal service is at 10am. Its only 10km from the university, I think, so I could probably leave by 9am on my bike and get there o
n time.

I'm really excited! I was so, so, so anxious about it, as some of you know and may even share my concern, I am not as worried or anxious any more. I can't wait to get in touch with the small group and make some connections ahead of time. It might be easier to make the transition that way. Here's a picture from their homepage...

It means "God won't leave you hanging". The scripture says "Surrender all your worries to God! He will raise you up again, he will never leave one stranded that stays true to Him" (Psalm 55:23, I think, its hard to read!). I can't wait to get a German Bible!

On a side note, I'll be getting my German phone number soon, so when I go away in June/July you'll be able to reach me. My incoming calls are free :-).

Things are looking up. Still trying to work out some little details...but everything seems to be coming together! I'll know who my host family is soon!

Love,
